Web

URLs and HTML embeds

Files are uploaded directly to AWS S3 via secure presigned URLs and delivered through CloudFront CDN for fast, reliable playback worldwide. Thumbnails are automatically generated for all media types.

Organizing Content

Folders

Create folders to organize your content library. You can nest folders for hierarchical organization (e.g., "Marketing → Q1 Campaign → Social Media"). Move content between folders with drag-and-drop.

Tags

Apply tags to content for cross-cutting categorization. Tags complement folders — a single piece of content can have multiple tags regardless of which folder it's in.

Search

Use the search bar to find content by name, tag, file type, or upload date. Search works across all folders in your library.

Content Properties

Each content item has the following properties:

  • Name: A descriptive name for the content
  • Type: Automatically detected from the file (image, video, document, web)
  • Duration: Default display duration (can be overridden in playlists)
  • Tags: One or more tags for categorization
  • Expiration: Optional expiration date — content is automatically removed from active playlists after this date
  • Preview: Visual preview with playback controls for video content

Content Expiration

Set an expiration date on time-sensitive content (promotions, events, seasonal messaging). When content expires, it's automatically removed from active playlists and schedules without manual intervention. Expired content remains in your library but is marked as expired.

AI-Generated Content

In addition to uploading files, you can generate content directly within StreamSign using AI Studio. Generate text overlays, images, and video — all saved to your content library and ready to add to playlists. See the AI Studio documentation for details.
