Scheduling

Control when and where your content plays with powerful scheduling rules.

Creating a Schedule

Navigate to Dashboard → Schedules and click "Create Schedule":

  1. Give your schedule a descriptive name (e.g., "Morning Menu Board")
  2. Select the playlist to play
  3. Choose target player(s) — one or many
  4. Set time rules (always on, time range, or recurring)
  5. Optionally assign a priority level
  6. Activate the schedule

Dayparting

Dayparting lets you show different content at different times of day. Common use cases:

6:00 AM – 11:00 AMBreakfast menu, morning news, weather updates
11:00 AM – 2:00 PMLunch specials, midday promotions
2:00 PM – 5:00 PMAfternoon deals, upcoming events
5:00 PM – 10:00 PMDinner menu, evening entertainment

Set the start and end time for each schedule entry. Content will only play during the specified window.

Recurring Schedules

Create schedules that repeat on specific days or patterns:

  • Daily: Plays every day within the specified time window
  • Weekdays only: Monday through Friday
  • Weekends only: Saturday and Sunday
  • Custom days: Select specific days of the week
  • Date range: Plays only between a start and end date (ideal for campaigns)

Priority Overrides

When multiple schedules overlap for the same player, the priority system determines which one plays. Higher-priority schedules override lower-priority ones.

Emergency (100)System alerts, emergency messages — overrides everything
High (75)Flash sales, time-sensitive announcements
Normal (50)Standard scheduled content (default)
Low (25)Ambient or fallback content
Default (0)Content that plays when nothing else is scheduled

Multi-Zone Scheduling

When using a multi-zone layout, each zone can have its own independent schedule. For example, the main zone shows a product video while the ticker zone displays scrolling news, and the sidebar shows weather and time widgets — each on its own schedule with its own playlist.

Schedule Management

  • Activate / Deactivate: Toggle schedules on and off without deleting them
  • Calendar View: See all schedules on a calendar to identify gaps and overlaps
  • Bulk Actions: Assign schedules to multiple players at once
  • Conflict Detection: StreamSign warns you when schedules conflict and shows which priority wins
